Songlines are a UK-based internationally respected world music magazine. Result!
Our music will be airing this Sunday on Brighton’s Juice 107.2fm 2-4pm on John Warr’s Afro Base. Tune in live or catch it 24/7 online.
Here’s the tune to Feel Good on Friday!
Here are just a few album cover art and sleeve design teasers. This is the result of collaboration between my beloved, Marisa Findlay with her photographic and visionary finesse and Mish Maudsley‘s amazing illustrative and artistic virtuosity. They were a joy to work with and I can’t wait to reveal the full album cover art tomorrow! Each will be releasing a feature on this aspect of the journey tomorrow.
We were very privileged to work with Chris Taylor on drums for half the songs. He brings some serious groove to the music and seemed to just hit the nail on the head to help attain the feel we were after. Check him out on Banzayangu and Jollof Rice.Chris has worked with a number of prominent artists including Soul II Soul (yes! remember them?), Gong, Stephen Hillage and Ian Dury.
A shout-out to others involved in the technical side of the production process: Special thanks to Paul ‘Win’ Winstanley from Black Wookie Studios for his recording and engineering work during the drum recording sessions. Also for how much I learned from just being in the studio and looking over his shoulder! Bob Katz for educational advice and analysis of key work that spurred me along to tackle the mixing mountain.
Tom Leader for his quality and careful mastering services.
