Mvula Mandondo in the News

Here’s a quick summary of some of the events over the last months. First we had our press release by Sean McCauley from Sonic Smash Music liking us to “the Buena Vista Social Club played on traditional African instruments”.  Nice! Read the full article here.

We also have an upcoming review in Songlines world music magazine, which we are very excited about – and also just a tad nervous for we know that they are discerning world music connoisseurs with a keen ear.  They also get hundreds of submissions per week so that we even got accepted for a review says something about the quality already.

We now have a stock of CDs available to purchase from Resident music in the North Laine bang in the middle of Brighton.  If your in Brighton head on over there for some old-style ‘listen-while-you-browse’ service from their awesome music selection.  The owner, Leo has a particular taste for Ghana afro-beat and 80s style Congolese soukous.   No surprise therefore that his favourite tracks are Mwajuma Mambo and Banzayangu Hinonge!

I have recently been interviewed for Turks & Caicos Weekly News Magazine but am waiting on new as to when that article will be published.
